As statistics show, one third of all men are suffering from premature ejaculation, which makes it a severe problem depriving ordinary people of the happiness to enjoy sexual activities. In the past, psychological and biological factors have already been recognized as two major factors contributing to premature ejaculation issues. It is until recently that researchers found that genetic factor is also a cause for the problem.
External factors such as nervousness or intoxication may not be the root of the causes of premature ejaculation. In an interview done by researchers in Turku, Finland, more than three thousand men, pairs of twins and their older or younger male siblings, were asked to talk about their first sex experience. A large number of the interviewees revealed that they had premature ejaculation problem the first time they had sex. In another research involving 200 men in the Netherlands, researchers also found a genetic link to premature ejaculation. Within relative genetic factors, they successfully located a relationship with serotonin regulation. All these researches open up the possibility of new premature ejaculation pills and premature ejaculation treatment to complement the traditional psychotherapy, which has proved to be useful.
In many cases, married couples have troubled relationship due to unsatisfactory sex life. Wives may be blamed or blame themselves for husbands’ dysfunction, while men usually feel frustrated after constant failures. The good news is this new discovery of a genetic influence of premature ejaculation will bring up a new solution for miserable couples. Hopefully, a new solution means a better sex life and, of course, a happier relationship.
